yallamreddy sudheer 0 Posted August 24, 2010 sure,i think ds ques came in tcs right.step1:for 1st 1/5th mile means 0.2 mile cost is re1step2:for remaining 2.8 miles .for each 1/5th mile ie is remaining 2.8 miles each .2 mile cost re0.2(so remaining dist*cost of each 1/5th mile)/(cost for 1/5th mile)step3:so the total cost is re1+2.8/0.2*0.2=re3.

hemant.rajput 0 Posted September 8, 2010 first of all we have to find how many 1/5 miles is there in 3 miles i.e 15. now for first 1/5 mile cost is 1 rupee and for next each 1/5 mile the cost is .20 so now 14*.20=2.80so the total cost is 1+2.80=3.80well friend look 1\5 is equal to 0.20 so you have to give rs 1 for the first 0.20 mile now you are left with 14/5 mile fare and this come by converting 3 miles as 15/5. As 14/5 is equal to 2.8 so for this 2.8 miles cost comes at the rate of 0.20miles/0.20rs thus for 2.8 miles the cost is rs0.56 and the total cost is rs1.56 so answer is first. sufiyan06 0 Posted October 8, 2010 Its very simple, yes the answer is 3.8. First we need to divide 3-mile by 1/5 and the answer you will get 15. It means there are 15, 1/5 are there in 3 miles.now, do some mulitiplication i.e, 14 * 0.2 = 2.8Since for one 1/5 it cost 1.00, so add 1 to 2.8 and the answer will be 3.80. idealhr 0 Posted June 5, 2017 Total distance travel by taxi is=3 miles so,we can write 3miles=1/5*15 now according to prob 1st 1/5 mile's fair is= Rs. 1 so, remaining miles=3-1/5=(15-1)/5=14/5 nd now fair is 0.20 per 1/5 mile so 14/5 miles fair is=14*0.20=2.80 total fair=1+2.80=Rs 3.80 So the answer is Rs.3.80.
