Meera was playing with her brother using 55 blocks.She gets bored playing and starts arranging the blockssuch that the no. of blocks in each row is one lessthan that in the lower row. Find how many were therein the bottom most row?

55=5*1155= 5+(4+6)+(3+7)+(2+8)+(1+9)+(0+10)ie... 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10 ; where ans is 10.also, 55=11+(10+12)+(9+13)ie... 9+10+11+12+13 ; where the ans is 13the answer is either 10 or 13.

55=5*1155= 5+(4+6)+(3+7)+(2+8)+(1+9)+(0+10)ie... 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10 ; where ans is 10.also, 55=11+(10+12)+(9+13)ie... 9+10+11+12+13 ; where the ans is 13the answer is either 10 or 13.

n(n-1)/2=55;n=11

in a chess board consists of 4 rows and 4 columns (no matter whites or blacks)how many squares in that chessboard??please tell me wid d reason...

the question is incomplete......you have not mentioned about how many rows...but still if assume the no. of rows, v can find out the no. blocks in the bottom most row.if no. of rows n= 2, then the no. of blocks in the bottom most row would be 27.if no. of rows n= 5, then the no. of blocks in the bottom most row would be 9.if no. of rows n= 10, then the no. of blocks in the bottom most row would be 1.for other values of n, v do not get the result as a whole number so neglect those values.I calculated this by using Sum of series in Arithmetic Progression Sn= n/2[2a+(n-1)d].

hey rajan chk d q clearly..i have mentioned 4 rows n 4 columns...in d chess board (actually chess board consists 8 rows n 8 comuns , but m saying 4 rows n 4 columns)by using this how many squares can be formed in the chess board?

GK-----> 30 squares formed in 4x4 matrixsoln: There are many more different-sized squares on the chessboard. The complete list of answers is shown below: 4x4 square = 1 3x3 square = 4 2x2 square = 9 1x1 square = 16 so the total no. of squares: 1+4+9+16=30 similarly 8x8 formed 204 squares.

----------------------------------------------------------a square can be formed by either 1,4,8 and 16 incase of 4x4 chess board.so1x1=16 squares2x2=4 squares4x4=1 squareso total number of squares that can be formed is 21.

HI,Kuldeepanswer is depend on answers which r given in the optionsans is 10,28 for 10 explanation10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=55for 28 1st row will be 28 n above it will be 2728+27=55so choose that option
