Key Responsibilities :

# Configure, install, maintain, tune and document primarily Linux-based environments

# Manage Windows 2008 R2 across different platforms

# Support various teams through resolution of support tickets

# Co-ordinate and deliver special technology projects

# Provide support during peak traffic periods as required by the business

# To maintain and develop Server and SAN environment.

# To set up PCs, Laptops and Servers: both hardware and software.

# To maintain and carry out server backups and assist in Disaster Recovery preparation

 

Skills/Experience Required (MUST HAVE SKILLS) :

# 3+ Linux administration in a demanding environment primarily in RedHat/CentOS

# 3+ Window administration in a demanding environment

# Deep knowledge of Apache and Linux web Servers

# Experienced JBoss/Tomcat administration

# Windows 2008 and 2012 Server administration skills, Active Directory Multi-site infrastructure design and full configuration.

# Knowledge and experience of iSCSI/SAN attached environment

# Experience of virtualisation technologies (Xen/KVM/VMWare)

# Experience of high capacity, high transactional environments

 

Additional/Desirable Skills :

# Dealing with SSL certificates and Certificate Authority (CA)

# Netscaler VPX and load balancing

# Basic Networking

 

Soft Skills :

# Determination to find 'correct' solution to any problem

# Ability to work as part of a team

# VFACE is looking for a Systems Administrators to join the team.

# The successful Systems Administrator will configure, install maintain and tune Linux/Windows to ensure the performance of the systems are working to the expected standards.

# The role will involve the support of Linux Redhat Servers and Windows 2008 R2 as well as incident management and fault diagnosis, proactive system monitoring, hardware and software management, stress/load testing alarm/trap management and the building, configuration and maintenance of Servers.

# The ideal candidate should have knowledge and understanding of ITIL standards that will boost the application.
